Russ graduated from Western Kentucky with a degree in art education. Later on, he traveled to Italy to pursue his love of sculpture. While in Italy he was able to study and experience the works of “The Masters” of sculpture and the Arts. He also began to learn the fine art of bronze casting for the development of his sculptures.
At his Bell Buckle studio, Russ creates his limited edition bronze figures through the process known as “Lost Wax” which he discusses in this segment. Russ’s creations range in size from table models to monumental and are located in private and corporate collections across the United States and Europe. Ever see the life size sculptures of Minnie Pearl and Roy Acuff in Nashville? The Korean War Memorial in front of the Nashville capitol? Then you’ve seen some of the amazing works of Russ Faxon! In Bell Buckle, be sure to visit the Bell Buckle Park to see his towering Daffodil sculpture and his creation for the Ward Anderson playground. You can also visit the Webb School campus to see his sculpture of Sawney Webb who is currently sporting a face mask!
