There truly is no better time of the year than Christmas. And there is truly no better place to enjoy the holiday season than Bell Buckle, Tennessee! Christmas isn’t just a day; it’s a season. So Bell Buckle wants to enjoy every day of the season by adding those special touches that warm the soul and kindle memories of our happiest times. Special touches this year will be the return of the Bell Buckle Quilt Walk, the much requested return of the Pet Parade, the just can’t resist it S’Mores Pit, and of course Santa Claus!

Back in 1982, Bell Buckle started their first ever Quilt Walk. The historic little Victorian style town is full of post-Civil War homes and for many folks visiting these homes is the highlight of the event. Private homes, each with its very own individual charm, will be showcasing not only an array of quilts but also the older, renovated turn of the century architecture.

Quilting and patchwork has attained public recognition as an art form. A stunning kaleidoscope of colors and patterns reflect the variety of quilts. You will be able to see nearly every style from the traditional all hand-sewn quilts to English batted, painted, patterned, trapunto, shadow, embroidered, machine quilted, so-called Crazy, appliquéd and probably some other creative construction. Like the architecture of Bell Buckle’s historic homes, quilts are a tangible, tactile record of life in America’s past and present.

The Quilt Walk is free to all wishing to attend. Brochures and maps will be available. Visitors can even catch a ride on Santa’s trailer if they would rather ride than walk! More information on where to pick up brochures and maps will be posted to the Bell Buckle Chamber website and Facebook page closer to the event.

And you can bet we are listening to you, because we heard loud and clear that you want the Pet Parade brought back! So here you go! Bring that precious pooch and/or feline for a stroll through town as part of the Bell Buckle festivities! Dress yourself and your pet up in a Christmas theme to join Santa and his elves and other parade goers for a jolly good time. Registration and details will be available at the Bell Buckle Chamber website at www.bellbucklechamber.com. It will be a tail wagging good time for all!

Santa and his sleigh will be offering FREE magical rides every Saturday around the quaint, tree lined streets to take in the mesmerizing lights and festive spirit that abound in Bell Buckle. And there’s no chocolate shortage in Bell Buckle! No sir! In fact, in Bell Buckle we say “Let Them Eat S’Mores” at our free S’Mores Bar! Bring the kids to the pavilion on Main Street to write their letters to Santa and pick up a few candy canes to boot! Honestly, it just cannot get more Christmas than all this!

Enjoy the sounds of the holidays with our old time strolling carolers! And in Bell Buckle, well, sometimes our carolers take a few “liberties” with some of the words. It will be sure to get you singing along and smiling the entire time. Additionally, each Saturday the local shops will be offering a variety of complimentary items for all ages to enjoy.

And truly there is no more authentic place to celebrate the simple goodness of the holidays than in Bell Buckle where the warmth of the season radiates from each and every store and every person you meet. Christmas in Bell Buckle evokes memories of Christmas past. Warm, inviting, friendly, filled with the spirit of the holidays – that’s Bell Buckle.

It’s old fashioned, simple pleasures that make the holiday memories we love most. That’s what Bell Buckle is all about.
