Author of novels, poetry collections is Sept. 17 Follin speaker at Webb

BELL BUCKLE, Tenn. – Author of novels and poetry collections, Erica Wright, will be the next guest in the 2018-2019 Follin Speaker Series at The Webb School. The presentation is set for Sept. 17 at 9:40 a.m. in the Follin Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.

Wright’s latest crime novel The Granite Moth was called “brisk, dark, slinky” by USA Today and was a 2016 Silver Falchion Award Finalist. Her debut The Red Chameleon was one of O: The Oprah Magazine’s Best Books of Summer 2014. She is also the author of the poetry collections Instructions for Killing the Jackal and All the Bayou Stories End with Drowned. She is the poetry editor at Guernica Magazine as well as a former editorial board member for Alice James Books. She has taught creative writing at Marymount Manhattan College and Southern New Hampshire University. She grew up in Wartrace, Tenn., and received her B.A. from New York University and her M.F.A. from Columbia University. Her new novel, The Blue Kingfisher, will be released this fall.

While on campus, Wright, a 1999 Webb graduate, will meet with students in creative writing classes.
