Webb Development League Coaches
What’s admirable about what many are doing in this tough spot is that they are seeking to improve. The Webb Development League is rooted in coaching experience, proven success, and has a staff that reflects this foundation. The WBL is led by Webb’s basketball coaching staff: Jeff Mitchell, James Garcia, Kim Shibayama and Donnelle Dickson.
Becoming a better player or coach will be done in a four-step process in the WBL
1. Each player will participate in a combine evaluation to determine skill level.
2. Each player will have the opportunity to join weekly skill development clinics.
3. Each player will attend weekly team practices to comprehend team concepts.
4. All athletes and coaches will compete in 2-3 weekly games to gain game experience.
Also, coaches will be invited to join weekly coaching clinics to help them develop as coaches and create solid programs for their teams.
Coach Jeff Mitchell has coached at Webb for 12 years and was named 2018 TSSAA (2AA) coach of the Year.
Coach Kim Shibayama has coached for 3 years and was a 4-year starter at Kansas State. She is also the all-time leading scorer in Grundy Co.
Coach James Garcia has coached at Webb for 19 years, had multiple MTAC final four appearances, and won a Bedford County title in 2008.
Coach Donnelle Dickson has coached for 23 years, is a certified personal trainer, trains professional players, and has won two AAU National Championships in 2017 & 2018.
